Young Professionals Day SCM & Logistics

The PMI Production Management Institute together with the trade magazine LOGISTIK HEUTE from the Munich HUSS-VERLAG continue their education initiative for junior employees, with the “Young Professionals Day” in 2018. The first “Young Professionals Day SCM and Logistics 2018” will take place on July 19 from 9:00 to 18:00 (CEST) in Munich.

What is the 1-day education event about?

  • Foster teamwork as well as joined-up thinking and emphasize it as a competitive advantage
  • Manage within a team specific Supply Chain challenges using a realistic SCM business game
  • Train conscious performance through distinct role allocation in Supply Chain, Sales, Purchasing and Operations.
  • Acquire and analyze data quickly and prioritize relevant decisions under time pressure
  • Scrutinize the weighting of individual targets to maximize the overall performance
  • Work on resolving conflict
  • Take team important findings back into your daily work routine

A realistic business simulation called “The Fresh Connection” will be used during this action-oriented training. This SCM simulation game is about a fruit juice company that has got itself into an economic crisis. There seems to be several logistic problems. A new management team is in charge to lead the company out of the crisis. Participating teams consisting of Purchasing, Operations, Sales and Supply Chain Management have to drive the company to a positive ROI (Return On Investment). Professional knowledge and team spirit are demanded by the Young Professionals to make the best tactical and strategic decisions.

What´s next?

Participating teams compete within a contest. The winning team will receive attractive prizes: a Voucher per participant for a LOGISITK-HEUTE panel event (valid 12 month) as well as a free annual company subscription for the LOGISTK-HEUTE journal.

In addition, participating teams will qualify for the online competition The Fresh Connection Global Professional Challenge 2019, a competition where teams from more than 30 countries compete yearly against each other between April and June.
