Four extra days of classroom learning – voluntarily? Absolutely. That’s exactly what happened at the APICS CTSC (Certified in Transformation for Supply Chain) training held from December 1–4, 2025 in Munich.
Eight highly committed participants – including three already certified CTSC experts – chose to dive once again into four days of intensive work on Supply Chain Transformation. Their motivation: self-study is helpful, but real understanding grows through exchange, debate, and hands-on examples.
From Theory to Real Impact
Led by Christian Voyé, the focus shifted away from simply reviewing content to truly understanding, applying, and challenging it. Which levers create real movement? Which transformation drivers matter most in their own companies? And how can SCOR DS and CTSC be used as practical tools rather than as theory on paper?
A Clear Learning Journey: The Four Transformation Phases
The seminar followed the well-established CTSC four-phase transformation model:
- Creating rationale and urgency → How do you help stakeholders see that change is essential?
- Preparation → How do you assess the current state, define KPIs, and prioritize initiatives?
- Executing the transformation → Using change management, pilots, scaling, and solid governance.
- Reflection & Sustainability → How do you measure success – and ensure it endures?
A central pillar was the SCOR Digital Standard (version 14). Participants used it to map their supply chains across the seven major processes – Orchestrate, Plan, Order, Source, Transform, Fulfill, Return – and compare them with KPIs and best practices.
Moments of Insight Guaranteed
One highlight was assessing their own organizations through the four SCOR dimensions: Performance, Processes, Practices, and People. In group work, this led to genuine “aha” moments: Where do we stand today – and where is our future potential?
Learning Also Happens Beyond the Classroom
Despite all the flipcharts and analyses, personal connection never fell short. On December 2, the group visited the wintery Tollwood Festival, including Bavarian curling. Over mulled wine and friendly competition, conversations emerged that no seminar room could ever provide.
