Two of them – ASCM’s SCOR modeland theGRI Standards – are now moving closer together, offering exciting new perspectives for real-world application.
SCOR DS: The Digital Blueprint for Supply Chain Excellence
With the SCOR Digital Standard (SCOR DS), ASCM provides a robust reference model that enables companies to measure, model, and improve their supply chains end-to-end – from strategy to execution, from processes to performance metrics.
ASCM explicitly emphasizes SCOR’s interdisciplinary compatibility with frameworks like GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), SASB, IFRS, and other leading sustainability standards. This is no coincidence: SCOR DS integrates sustainability directly into its performance measurement model – not as an add-on, but as a core element of modern supply chain management.
GRI and SCOR: A Common Ground for Impact
Another milestone: On July 3, 2025, GRI was officially recognized at the UN Global Impact Conference as the “Common Ground for Global Impact Reporting.” This marks a major step toward unified ESG reporting, especially in conjunction with operational standards like SCOR.
Why does this matter? Because transparent, credible sustainability metrics no longer need to stand alone in a CSR report – they can be derived directly from the supply chain operating model. Companies no longer have to "tell a story" about their impact – they can prove it with a model that connects processes, capabilities, and KPIs.
What Does This Mean for Practice?

- how “Supplier Social Compliance” is operationalized within the “Source” processes,
