Delivering outstanding supply chain education requires much more than subject matter expertise. Exceptional instructors create engaging learning environments where participants understand complex concepts, actively contribute, and immediately apply new knowledge to real business situations.
For this reason, PMI continuously invests in the development of its international instructor community. During June and July 2026, seven PMI instructors successfully completed the new APICS Train-the-Trainer (TTT) Version 6.1, making PMI one of the first organizations worldwide to deliver the completely redesigned program.
A Modern Instructor Development Program
The new Train-the-Trainer has been substantially redesigned to reflect today's learning environment. While previous versions primarily focused on classroom delivery, Version 6.1 places a much stronger emphasis on online and hybrid learning methodologies.
Delivered in eight highly interactive online sessions (24 hours), the program provides instructors with a structured framework for adult learning while covering topics such as:
- Designing engaging online learning experiences
- Increasing participant interaction and engagement
- Facilitating discussions effectively
- Structuring complex content
- Presentation and communication techniques
- Managing challenging classroom situations
- Delivering impactful virtual training
One of the program's greatest strengths is its practical approach. Every participant delivers several short presentations and receives detailed coaching and feedback from both the Master Instructor and fellow instructors.
Learning from an APICS Master Instructor
The program was delivered by Joyce Lewis, one of APICS' most experienced Master Instructors. Joyce was a member of the development team responsible for the latest versions of both the Train-the-Trainer (TTT) and Learning Dynamics for Instructors (LDI) programs. Her extensive experience, practical teaching style, and ability to actively engage participants created an outstanding learning experience for everyone involved.

Looking Ahead
PMI plans to offer the next APICS Train-the-Trainer Version 6.1 in 2027, exclusively and free of charge for PMI instructors.
