Cooperation between PMI & BVL expanded

Earning Maintenance Points for APICS Certifications

For over half a century, APICS certifications have been internationally recognized qualifications for professionals in the logistics and supply chain industry. These certifications, earned by passing rigorous exams, validate expertise in logistics, production planning, and control, as well as supply chain management.

Employers place their trust in the knowledge of their APICS-certified employees, while newcomers and seasoned professionals enhance their career prospects in a competitive job market. APICS certifications provide a solid foundation for those looking to expand their professional skills, aiding companies in making informed decisions and optimizing processes.

To maintain certification, professionals must accumulate 75 points (or 100 for APICS Fellows) every five years through educational activities and industry events, demonstrating their commitment to updating their knowledge and maintaining their professional qualifications. We recently provided detailed information about APICS Maintenance in one of our recent news articles and regularly offer informational webinars (more information here).

For several years now, there has been a partnership between the Bundesvereinigung Logistik (BVL) e.V. and PMI (PMI Production Management Institute GmbH). Interested individuals have the opportunity to prepare for one of four APICS certifications, including the Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP). What's particularly noteworthy is that the required maintenance points can also be earned through BVL membership (2 APICS points/year), participation in the International Supply Chain Conference (Deutscher Logistik Kongress DLK) (1 APICS point per event hour), or attendance at BVL Regional Group events (1 APICS point per hour of event/factory visit).
