APICS CPIM Part 2
In order to realize the adaptability and innovation needed in today’s volatile and competitive global environment, all of the company’s internal processes must be carefully planned, executed and monitored. The required materials and resources must be available at the right time, in the right quantity and quality and at the right cost. Operations need to be streamlined and outcomes must be predicted more accurately. The APICS CPIM Part 2 seminar provides individuals with the understanding to plan, execute, monitor, evaluate and improve production and inventory activities within an organization’s operations by improving efficiency, maximizing technology Return on Investment and streamlining operations to address internal and external challenges and opportunities.
The CPIM Part 2 seminar covers all the activities related to manufacturing and inventory management within the four walls of the company. The seminar provides the body of knowledge necessary to execute, control and improve all internal operations of a company as they relate to planning throughout the planning hierarchy, from Business Planning through S&OP through Master Scheduling to Master Planning of Resources and execution of the production schedule. It covers Inventory Management throughout the planning hierarchy as well. CPIM Part 2 consists of the following four modules:

Participants of a CPIM part 2 seminar deepen their functional knowledge about production and inventory management. They will learn to align all internal activities with business objectives to streamline operations and drive profits. They will master the frameworks and tools needed to effectively plan, execute, monitor and improve internal operations. Participants will learn methodologies to boost productivity, collaboration and innovation. They will learn to create interdepartmental engagement using common understanding, vocabulary, processes and frameworks based on global standards. Participants learn to maximize the Return On Investment on the systems and technologies within the organization. In summary, the CPIM Part 2 seminar provides participants with the required insights into how the various pieces work together and what tools, approaches, technologies and measurements support and encourage achievement of supply chain objectives in order to increase customer satisfaction and company profit.
Further, participants learn the necessary common terminology and definitions in order to communicate in the same language in the supply chain area to allow for improvement and change.
The CPIM Part 2 seminar is designed for individuals working directly in the supply chain and in supply chain related functions, who would like to get a deeper understanding of the internal Supply Chain processes, Production and Inventory Management and the related terminology. Furthermore the CPIM Part 2 seminar is designed for all individuals who would like to get the designation Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
CPIM Part 2 can be concluded with an official APICS exam.
The "Certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM)” certification consists of 2 parts, CPIM Part 1 and CPIM Part 2. Passing both exams is a requirement to become Certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM). A candidate who passes both CPIM exams will receive a personalized certificate "Certified in Production and Inventory Management". The candidate is also entitled to use the acronym CPIM as a title.
The CPIM Part 2 seminar is a 6 day seminar (2x3 days) which consists of a mix of case studies, quiz questions, interactive role play, videos, business simulations, knowledge and best practice transfer via presentation.
The seminars are delivered in English and all training materials are in English as well. Exercises to repeat the content, knowledge tests and other exercises during the session and at the end of each session, ensure, that the trainer receives an immediate feedback on the knowledge transfer success.
