On December 7, 2023, in collaboration with Logistik HEUTE, another Young Professionals Day took place at the Munich University of Applied Sciences' Campus Pasing, marking the 12th successful year of this initiative. A total of 25 talented up-and-coming professionals from the supply chain sector participated, showcasing their skills in the business simulation The Fresh Connection. They worked in seven teams, comprising employees from six different companies: BOEHRINGER, DOKA, IGEPA, KNAUF, METROPLAN, and TAMARA COMOLLI.
The simulation presented the participants with real-life challenges faced by a struggling fruit juice company, tasking them with identifying and rectifying logistical weaknesses. The teams took on roles in procurement, production, sales, and supply chain to return the company to profitability.
A focal point of the event was the implementation and execution of an effective Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. This required technical expertise, teamwork, and cross-departmental collaboration to succeed in the simulation.
At the end of the day, the team from METROPLAN and Boehringer Ingelheim RCV GmbH & Co KG emerged victorious with an impressive ROI of 9.14%. Additionally, all teams qualified for The Fresh Connection Global Professional Challenge 2024.
