As a long-standing partner of Boehringer Ingelheim, we have been supporting the worldwide development of their supply chain teams since 2019. The joint Academy Program is designed to equip employees with the skills and a shared vocabulary needed to succeed in today’s dynamic, global environment.
Diverse learning formats – one common goal
At the core of the program are APICS certifications based on international standards, Supply Chain Essentials workshops, and a mix of in-person and online courses. These are complemented by a comprehensive e-learning academy. This broad portfolio not only builds professional expertise but also fosters a clear, unified language that enables smooth collaboration across functions and geographies.
One particularly impactful element is the business simulation The Fresh Connection. Participants experience first-hand the importance of cross-functional thinking, making practical end-to-end decisions, breaking down silos, and developing a deeper understanding of interdependencies within the supply chain.
A partnership that inspires
We are proud of the results so far: hundreds of Boehringer Ingelheim supply chain professionals worldwide have participated in the program since its launch and have successfully competed in international challenges such as the Young Professionals Day and the global Online Challenge.
Andrea Walbert, Managing Director of PMI, summarizes it well: “For Boehringer Ingelheim we have been training supply chain professionals worldwide since 2019. Even throughout the pandemic, the motivation of participants and the strong top management support were always there. That also makes it fun for us and our trainers!”
Looking ahead
At PMI, we are delighted to actively shape this journey and contribute to building a resilient, future-ready supply chain at Boehringer Ingelheim. Here’s to many more years of successful collaboration!
