CO2 Footprint

Understanding and reducing carbon footprint – an interactive approach

Amid rising global concern about climate change, a greater understanding of personal and corporate contributions to carbon emissions has never been more crucial. The question arises - how much CO2 are we individually responsible for, and how can we bring about change in the way businesses operate to enhance sustainability?

To facilitate this understanding, Berliner Morgenpost has developed an interactive infographic (to the figure on the right: Wieviel CO2 kann ich mir noch leisten?), allowing individuals to gauge how their lifestyle, including living arrangements, nutrition, mobility, and general consumption, adds to CO2 emissions. It’s an opportunity for self-reflection, to identify areas of improvement, and make more sustainable choices.

But it's not just individuals who need to take responsibility. The role of organizations in achieving a sustainable future is pivotal. This shift in business operations can be addressed by implementing the principle of the 'Triple P'- People, Planet, and Prosperity.

In light of this, we have designed a 2-day practice workshop Creating a Sustainable Business: People, Planet, Profit, powered by the business simulation The Triple Connection. This workshop is designed to navigate the complexities of integrating sustainable business practices into corporate strategy.

Participants will learn how to balance the various components of the value chain to establish a successful, sustainable business. The workshop aligns with 13 out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations, offering a comprehensive overview of sustainability in a business context.

One of the key areas of focus will be driving sustainable value chains, providing participants with the knowledge and tools to improve production processes, manage customer expectations, and collaborate effectively with suppliers.

What sets this workshop apart is the 'learning by doing' approach it offers through the business simulation, The Triple Connection. This game allows participants to navigate the real-world complexities of sustainability in a safe, hands-on virtual environment. It's an opportunity to make critical decisions and acquire skills to drive sustainable value chains.

Those who wish to elevate their career and contribute towards a sustainable future are invited to join one of the upcoming practice workshop Creating a Sustainable Business: People, Planet, Profitin 2024.
