Each APICS Exam is computer-based and takes 3,5 hours.

Each APICS Exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions (130 operational and 20 pretest). Pretest questions do not contribute to the total score, are randomly distributed among the scored items and are used for statistical purposes only. Candidates should answer all exam questions.

APICS uses a scaled score methodology, which is a technique for equating scores in which the degree of difficulty varies from one exam form to the next. This ensures equivalent passing standards are maintained for each exam form. Detailed information can be found here: Understanding a Scaled Score.

The scaled score range is 200-350:
Fail = 200-299
Pass= 300-350

APICS exams are computer-based and are provided by the test provider Pearson VUE with a global network of local test centers or as OnVUE Online Proctored Exam.

  1. Pearson Vue Test Centers exist all over the world in almost every bigger city. Testing sites can be found at Pearson Vue.
  2. OnVue Online Proctored Exam: Candidates can also take the exam from home or from office. Candidates need a stable internet connection and a webcam – a technical setup test is provided prior to the exam. You can find detailed information at APICS OnVUE exam information // Pearson VUE.
