SMR - Strategic Management of Resources
Capstone module – choosing appropriate methodologies and techniques for specific needs, and acquiring an appreciation for the integrated nature of operations.
In this course, we will explore the relationship of existing and emerging processes and technologies to manufacturing strategy and supply-chain-related functions. The course addresses three main topics: aligning resources with the strategic plan, configuring and integrating operating processes to support the strategic plan, and implementing change.

Knowledge Prerequisites
For maximum comprehension of course content, you should be familiar with the information and concepts presented in the other CPIM modules before taking this course.
Course Goals and Objectives
- Explain manufacturing, Just-in-Time (JIT), total quality management (TQM), manufacturing strategy, organizational structure, human resource policies, and the overall business strategy
- Analyze how global distribution, international issues, and information technology affect the supply chain and the strategic relationship of its members
- Identify requirements for the cost-management process, methods and benefits, and the advantages and limitations of using cost-management data for operational decision making
- Describe the managerial considerations in project selection and assessment
