MPR - Master Planning of Resources
Business Process Module – available methodologies and techniques to drive processes, and the application of these techniques.
The Master Planning of Resources module encompasses the processes for quantifiying actual and projected customer demand, translating that demand into realistic supply plans that are consistent with the resource constraints, business policies, and business objectives of the organization, and developing and validating a master schedule. This module includes the explanation of the business processes required to translate actual and projected demand into realistic and executable production schedules. The module highlights the need for different types of supply plans, how they are constructed in a range of business environments, and altternative approaches to developing and evaluating such plans.

Knowledge Prerequisites
The Basics of Supply Chain Management module is a suggested prerequisite to the course Master Planning of Resources and other CPIM modules, but it is not mandatory.
Course Goals and Objectives
The material covered in this course will enable participants to:
- Explain the master planning model and key planning elements
- Identify customer service policies, sources of customer demand, elements of actual demand, techniques for communicating with customers, and measurements of forecasting accuracy
- Understand the distribution network structure
- Explain the concept of multilevel master scheduling and the final assembly schedule
