BSCM - Basics of Supply Chain Management
The Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM) seminar is the fundamental introduction into Supply Chain Management.It is the first module of the CPIM education. This seminar explains Supply Chain terminology and basic concepts related to managing the complete flow of materials from suppliers to customers. Not only is the flow of materials covered in the BSCM, but also information and cash flow in context in value chain processes. In addition, the course addresses types of manufacturing systems, forecasting, master planning, material requirements planning, capacity management, production activity control, purchasing, inventory management, distribution, qualitiy management, and Just-in-Time manufacturing.
Target Group
- Professionals with little experience in supply chain management
- Professionals who are not directly concerned with logistic functions but who are involved in an industrial reorganization project
- Supply Chain operatives to test and to refresh their knowledge
- Engineering and Sales undergarduate students wishing to aquire the key terminology and fundamental concepts of Supply Chain management as it is used in companies

Certification
The APICS CPIM-Certified in Production and Inventory Management- entails 5 APICS exams. A candidate who passes all five CPIM exams obtains the CPIM status and will receive a personalized certificate "Certified in Production & Inventory Management". The BSCM is the first of the five exams.
In Germany and Austria the administration of the certification exams is done by GSCP (Gesellschaft der Supply Chain Professionals e.V.).
