TFC Professional Challange 2014: The German team from BSH was placed fourth

The 6th "The Fresh Connection Global Professional Challenge" ended impressively. Not only because this year’s final took place in Dubai, but also because of the outstanding results of the winning teams.

Again this year, the teams of four had to take over responsibility for Purchasing, Operations, Sales and Supply Chain Management and to solve the a difficult task and to lead "The Fresh Connection" out of the red and to a positive ROI. With the focus on "Optimization of the Logistics Footprint", the teams had to prove them against some tough competition and to establish their own company as the best.

During the qualification rounds, by country pools, which started in January 2014, the 11 Teams who competed for the title "Global Challenge Champion 2014" on September 19, were the winners from more than 300 teams out of 25 countries. 16 of them "played" in the pool German-Austria-Switzerland, with the Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte (BSH) team leading the way. As last year’s group winner, they had already qualified for the Global Final 2013 in Istanbul. But this time, it wasn’t enough for the same runner-up spot. Behind SPX (Poland) with a weighted ROI of 43,3%, Friesland Campina (Netherlands) with 38,3% and Coca Cola (China) with 32,3%, BSH took fourth place. Because of a mistake in round 2, they lost their hold on leading group and in the end had to give up third place to the Chinese team. Nevertheless: The BSH team can be proud of their achievement, to be under the Top 11 of 300 teams, and to take home the 4th place is a peak performance! The team’s opinion: "It wasn’t enough for us to reach the top. [...] But once again it was a lot of fun." said Robert Gisser, team leader from BSH. "Next year we hope to have a new team."

An interview with the team and their experience at the final in Dubai will be available here soon.
